In order to better understand the present we are living in, it’s necessary to know where we are coming from. To do so, the best places to begin with are the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum with their archaeological excavations.
A very strong eruption of the Vesuvius buried them completely, blocking time at 79 AD.
Pompeii was an important harbor in the Roman Age. As soon as you get to the entrance of the site, in front of your eyes, you will see the ancient port city almost in its entirety: baths, buildings, squares and a lot more… Everything will give you the chance to live a day like if you were a Roman citizen.
Herculaneum, whose name comes from the God Hercules, has maintained itself better compared to Pompeii. This happened because it has been buried deeper and this helped to keep the ruins nearly untouched: delicate items such as carbonized furniture, clothes and artistic and colored mosaics are still there and wait for you to live again.
