The enchanting archaeological site of Paestum is a must of any classic tour in Italy. The town was founded by Greek colonists coming from Sybaris, an earlier Greek city of southern Italy. Nowadays most of the ancient town is buried under the unexcavated land. The ancient city walls, built with huge stone blocks, surround the area. Just in the middle, three Greek temples stand, offering one of the best-preserved collection in Europe.
