Amalfi coast in Spring

“Italy, and the spring and first love all together should suffice to make the gloomiest person happy.” – Bertrand Russell

If you are planning your vacation in spring, Campania is the perfect location for you. Southern Italy is the warmest part of the country, and the coastline linking Naples, Sorrento and Amalfi is an area where the sun shines for most of the year. Walking along the coast enjoying the view of the landscape and a sunset on the sea always feels enchanting.

The season starting in March and ending in June, is a wonderful choice for your vacation on the Sorrentine Peninsula for several reasons.

The weather is just right, and it gets better and better. April is usually the month when you don’t need a thick coat anymore, the air becomes fresh, days are longer and one of the most relaxing moments of your vacation will be having a walk in the evening eating a tasty authentic gelato. During this period, spending a morning at the beach will already be possible, walking or even sunbathing and, for the brave ones, even having the first swim of the season. You’ll be delighted to share the beach with just few people avoiding the summer crowd.

The colors will amaze you. The deep blue sea, the pastel and golden towns, the shiny green fields, the yellow lemon tree terraces, the light blue sky above you, let alone the breathtaking purple shades of the sunset, are just the beginning. In spring you will be witness of an explosion of colors with the flowers blooming: wisterias, bougainvillea, petunias, roses, cyclamen will create a romantic and relaxing atmosphere, let alone a wonderful scent that you will not forget.

One of the best ways to enjoy this amazing scenery is by having a road trip along the coast. A journey among Sorrento, Positano, Ravello, Amalfi like our  is the most unique way to see with your own eyes and take pictures of, on one side, the beautiful coastal landscape, and on the other side, the shiny blue Tyrrhenian Sea. Don’t miss this chance, driving on the “road of 1000 bends” is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Easter always falls between the end of March and mid April; it’s a great opportunity to also experience some of the Italian traditions and the typical food of this celebration in Campania. From the Good Friday procession, to eating Colomba and Pastiera on the Easter Sunday and having a relaxing Pasquetta, the Monday after, like an Italian.

If you are visiting Campania in May it’s a great choice. You’re most likely to have the best weather, certainly above twenty Celsius but without the high summer tourist crowds.

Spring will show you the Amalfi coast as you would not be able to enjoy it in the peak period, intimate and enjoyable, and with a mild weather. No crowds, you will be able to enjoy the landscape, take great pictures, visit the Amalfi Duomo and museums, shopping at the boutiques in Positano, have romantic views all for yourself. So, what are you waiting for?
